Nerding Out With Voice Actors
In turning my mind from the darkness, as I must if I am to reach the Black Library, I had a fun recording session today.
We were working with a voice actor, repeating takes for difficult pronunciations, when he shared a story of another role in which he'd struggled with some words. And that is when I learned he was the actor for Pasqual in Rogue Trader.
I had to pause the session to nerd out for a bit, telling him Pasqual was one of my favorites, that I always kept him in my party, and when the game glitched him into oblivion I hacked him back in.
It's such a fun job, narrative designer, and working with the voice actors is one of the best parts of it. I remember the first time I heard words I'd written spoken by a voice actor. My hair stood on end. It was like they were making them real, bringing a dream to life.
